Jonathan has been taking photographs for the past 20+ years. His passion began when his father showed him how to develop black and white negatives. Jonathan was able to glean knowledge from his father about the developing process and then into actually taking photographs using a camera.
The first camera owned by Jonathan was a Kodak Star 110, 110mm Film camera. Using this camera for the first several years he was able to prove it was not just a passing phase. Photography was part of him as soon as the Star 110 was purchased at a local C.V.S. with the film being the cheapest on the market it was a smart choice. This all changed when he was graduating high school.
Jonathan’s parents saw the ever growing interest in the field of Art and photography being a choice outlet for him. His father helped him research a camera that would be best suited to his needs, as well as what he already owned in lenses. As an early graduation gift he received a Pentax Z-XM Film SLR. It proved to be invaluable to Jonathan as he took picture after picture and improved upon his skills. This assisted him in honing his skill set to film, but what about the digital revolution that was happening around him?
In 2006, as a present to himself, Jonathan purchased a Pentax K110D. It was a 6.1 megapixel camera that he was able to continue utilizing his extensive lens collection. It was almost as if he needed to relearn taking a picture. Everything was different about the new hardware! As he practiced and time went on he was able to master the digital world with his photography. After some time his wife purchased him a Pentax K200D, 10 megapixels as a Christmas present. It is his go to camera with the 110D as a secondary.
